Ouchie.
I hate hospitals, so the prospect of surgery and an overnight stay or two fails to thrill me.

just got home from the hospital for thyroid cancer surgery. enjoy this, my latest and greatest scar.

also, if you compare to the other pics in this set, you can see how swollen my neck is right now…and that Frownie, my thyroid’s drawn-in-eyeliner face, has departed for good.

I got my surgery date: Sept.5th. For the Race, we’ll see how I feel, sans half or all my thyroid. May be a little too much. Bleah.

    Update, 9/6
I’m back from the hospital, but my thyroid had to stay there, as it had cancer and was being a bad little citizen of Tinaland.
That operation SUCKS. Needless to say, no me on Sunday for the Race. poo!
Thanks, all, for your good wishes…you are lovely!

Jack and I were on the plane headed back to New York when, in the air, at some point during the flight, Jack said "Tina’s surgery is today". I looked out the window and wished you the best, thought of your sense of humor, kindness, and how I am so glad that our paths have crossed, especially you and rebel (Jack), and you are nearby to boot. so there is a very fine chance that we can all meet.

Rebel: indeed, but I was rejoicing at my freedom from the hospital. And I was thrilled to hear you on my vm, when I checked messages! You rock.
GCS: I have stumbled upon a treasure, in the form of your family. They clearly breed angels, in pairs.
limowreck: I’m doing pretty well, and I am so pleased that you’re doing well, after your treatments!
e_hoogie: you’re a total sweetheart, and a warrior, to boot. Amazing.

all of you…such a great team of well-wishers I have on Flickr!

When did this happen? Why am I so behind the times? Jeez… I have been having issues myself (I will update my flickr site with my whoas…) but your first… Im thinking of you and played
Baby, I saw they kicked you down
Now you are the only dirty trick in town
The stars are bright under your nightgown
A star is bright, a star is round
    Take care girl.
Talk to you soon (er, write…)
